*Remember sickle cell? Remember malaria? Even though the mutation of the Glu 6 to Val 6 causes polymerization of the Hb due to the apolar pockets of the Val, leading to sickle cell (which gets rid of the malaria), not everyone has sickle cell! :| Therefore we have to help and prevent malaria reaching more people without this resistance from sickled cell!*
