Post-swim update:
It was a cold, wet Saturday morning at 7.30am, with just a few dried apricots consumed for energy (yep I ignored alarm clock to get up in time for 'proper' breakfast!). Rain stopped, wind not too cold so bravely edged my way into the outdoor poor. Once I'd got warmed up (took about 15 lengths!) it was an enjoyable swim (only one other person joined me - but he wimped out after a few lengths) so I had pool all to myself and managed a whoppin' 100 lengths (2km), double what I had planned to do.
