Not known for doing this kind of thing, I am swimming beyond my accustomed few laps tomorrow, for a very good cause.
World Swim for Malaria has been organised by an acquaintance here in Fulham and 100% of the money raised will go to buy specially treated mosquito nets for people at risk, mostly children. £3 buys a net, every 20 nets saves a life. All the costs of the campaign have been donated.
I am going to swim 2k along with 30 or so other people at our local pool, which will be a bit of a stretch for me after slacking off in recent months from a reasonable start to the swimming year. 14
