Swimmer: Stacey Cook - Net distribution in Malawi

For those who know me well will understand that normally a holiday for me involves luxury, posh hotels, sun and sitting by a pool doing very little.....not this time!!

I'm off to Malawi for a week to join a charity and distribute malaria nets. Hard work and basic amenities await but I know it will all be worthwhile and I am really excited!

At least a million people die from malaria each year. Some put the estimates as high as 2.7 million. 70% of the deaths are of children under 5. That's the equivalent to one child dying of malaria in Africa every 30 seconds.
