I am one of the coordinators of WSM Japan.

It's been more than 5 years since I quit swimming competitively. I used to swim 25,000m a day but now I have no idea how far I can swim! So I am training in Rwanda's biggest pool - 15m Novotel Pool... often in heavy rain all by myself now that Rwanda is in the rainy season.

On 3 December, I am swimming in Kenya (a proper 25m pool! yeah!) with lots of Japanese people.

I do this because I know how dangerous malaria is, and I am always very frightened, living in Rwanda, in the middle of Africa. I have a few friends who barely survived.
