Swimmer: Kilifi Festive Swim for Malaria

Location: Kilifi, Kenya
Date:
25 Dec 2005

Post-swim update:

WE had lots of interest and 62 people swam - most made across the creek however some had to give up due to a few nasty jelly fish stings (Portugese man of war)- well done to all those who braved it.

Pre-swim:

Meeting at 9-30am on the beach below Walker Munro House- for 'team photo'.

The aim is to cross the Kilifi Creek (of the Indian Ocean) and back again- for strong swimmers (~ 1 km) )and a few meters only for the more nervous.

Pease try to avoid the PM of W jellyfish- however, medical help available owing to the large numer of doctors swimming- but quality of care is not neccessarily assured!!!
