Here in Saudi Arabia, we are often in the pool to escape the heat! Believe it or not, in December, the pool temperature drops sharply enough for the water to become positively chilly so we have to heat it. Last year we completed a sponsored swim to help burns victims, the cumulative total of all the swims, being the length of the Red Sea. Malaria is an issue with which many of our children (we have over 60 Nationalities in the school), are familiar, so this was a good starting point for our sponsored event this year.
