Post-swim update:

Thanks to the generosity of a local pool (The Brentwood School Sports Centre) we were able to grab an hour of free pool time for the swim.

The challenge set was for each swimmer to see how far they could swim within 60 minutes. There had initially been a group target of 70km (twice the channel) but it was apparent from the number of swimmers that became interested in the event that we would easily swim way beyond this distance.

In summary the 28 swimmers covered a total of 3,548 lengths or 88,700m in 60 minutes. This works out as an average of 126.7 lengths or 3,167 meters    more >>
