Malaria remains a major contributor to morbidity and mortality in much of the world, with an estimated 500 million infections per year resulting in 1-3 million deaths (mostly in children under 5). Currently, there are no effective vaccines to combat this scourge, and drug resistance is increasing. One proven means to decrease this threat is the use of bed nets which decrease the chance of being infected by a malaria caring mosquito. To aid in the purchase and distribution of bed nets in endemic areas, please sponsor my participation in World Swim for Malaria.
I plan to swin for one hour (around 40 laps in our pool) in order to raise 400$.
Many thanks for your help.
