Dear friends, malaria has been my major focus of work for 18 years now and every day I remain passionate about fighting this disease through a better understanding of the biology of the pathogen. As head of a malaria research lab here in our cozy corner of the Bronx, I train my scientists to join in this research mission and discover for themselves the complexities and fascination of this devastating disease.
