Quinlin, Evan, and Tara have five major protections against malaria that many people around us here in Ghana don't have:
1) Screens on our windows;
2) Air-conditioning so we don't have to open the windows;
3) Insect repellent;
4) Pills for malaria prevention (which are about $1/week/person--too much when a family of 7 lives on $80/month if they're lucky); and
5) Amazing medical care provided by the US Embassy.
We're excited to join the World Swim for Malaria--Tara will try to swim 2 km, Evan will try to swim 1 km, and Quinlin will attempt to drink all of the pool water. Please sponsor us if you can!
