The malaria parasite infects and kills millions of people each year. Malaria transmission by mosquitoes can be prevented through the use of insecticide treated bednets. The nets not only reduce the risk of being bitten by mosquitoes but also kill mosquitoes. The benefits of using a bednet unfortunately are not available to everyone. It is in countries such as Africa that can not afford nets where there is the greatest need.
