I'm looking to swim 1 mile, which is apparently about 60 lengths. This is really quite silly for someone who hasn't swam properly for almost a decade, and it may kill me. Just to make sure it at least gets close, I'm going for a practice swim to try a mile, and if I make it then I'll put the challenge higher. I may well go out on a drinking session the night before just to make it harder. You're really paying for my pain here, with the double bonus that none of the money goes to me, but for a thoroughly good cause. Many thanks,
